Former UN Secretary, Kofi Annan, Visits FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital

The former UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan paid a visit to FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital in Accra, Ghana on Wednesday, January 6th, 2016. Mr. Annan, who was on a familiarization tour of the hospital, met with FOCOS President and Founder, Dr. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei, the Chief Administrative Officer, Mrs. Leticia Osei-Poku and the Development Manager, Mr. Kingsley Asiedu Koranteng. Both of the FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital.

Mr. Annan, who was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Nane Maria Annan, toured the facilities of the hospital and met with Dr. Boachie-Adjei to discuss patient care and services. The former UN Secretary-General and his wife also met with the FOCOS Board Chairman, Ambassador Fritz Poku.                                               

Mr. Annan was highly impressed with the state of art facilities of the hospital which is one of its kind in the West African sub region for treating patients from countries within Africa and other parts of the world.

Mr. Annan and his wife interacted with staff as well as patients who are awaiting surgery to correct spinal deformities and orthopedic related ailments.

The former UN Secretary General congratulated the management and staff of the hospital for dedicating themselves to serving humanity.
