Mary Anne Choo is a private wealth advisor in Private Wealth Management at Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong. She serves as a member of the Asia Pacific Diversity Committee, is an MD ally for the Asia Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Network, and is a member of the Hong Kong Women's Network. Ms. Choo joined Goldman Sachs as Managing Director in 2008.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Choo worked at Citi for over 20 years. During her tenure there, she held various responsibilities in corporate lending and risk management and was the audit reviewer in Singapore, India, the Philippines, and Indonesia. During the Asian financial crisis, Ms. Choo headed the Institutional Remedial Management Unit to restructure nonperforming loans and distressed credits, with responsibilities including negotiating with banks and shareholders.
Ms. Choo joined the Global Wealth Management group at Citi in 2000 and built the mega-wealth business with cross-coverage of mega-wealth clients with Citi's Investment Banking and Capital Markets groups. She was a member of the Chairman's Council from 2005 to 2007.
Ms. Choo earned a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and was selected by Citi Private Bank to participate in the Senior Leadership Program at Harvard Business School. She lives in Hong Kong with her husband, Vincent Fan, and two children. She joined the FOCOS Board of Directors in January 2015.
